The night is cold; she is holding a beer pint in her hand as she blows out smoke rings with a sigh of relief. It is unusual to be cold at night during the month of April. Lately the sudden change in weather has caused irregularity across the country.
It was her thoughts or maybe her loneliness, which kept bringing back his memories. No matter how hard she tried to forget him there was something still stucked between them. She tried a lot to figure it out but she failed terribly.
She had no clue where was he and does he even think about her when he is alone? Or maybe after getting drunk does it remind him of the days they spent together? Questions raised in her head with every sip of beer she took. However, she couldn't find any answer.
Life has always given her a lot of surprises but this one came as a shock. It was her who decided to leave him but the distance never helped. The more she tried to hate him the more she was falling for him.
Sometimes she would randomly open his Facebook profile and try to figure out what is going on in his life. She was happy to know he followed his dreams even though things were not in his favor. She felt good that he has not locked his profile yet, which allowed her to check his updates. She knew one thing deep down that all she cared to know was whether he is still single or not.
But he never posted anything related with his love life, which gave her a hope that maybe there are chances he is still single. Sometimes the same hope would frustrate her. She had no clue whether he will accept her or not.
The reason she never tried sending him friend request was because of her guilt. He failed to keep their relationship alive but she was the one to come out of it. When this happened she thought over time she will get over it. But over time she started feeling strongly for him.
"Why it happens with us? Why life can't be simpler? Why I am thinking about him when I know that nothing is possible now?" she said out of the blue
"What are you talking about?" asked her roommate.
She was so lost in her thoughts she forgot her roommate was standing next to her. She has been staying with her from past three years but never had she mentioned about him. She knew her roommate was puzzled and she had no clue what to do now.
"Nothing. Some old shit which still exists," she said.
"Care to share?" asked her roommate again.
